SPARTA and MediCheque launch Innovative “Injury Protect”

London: November 13th 2018:

Specialist provider to the broker community SPARTA have teamed up with MediCheque Cash Plans to offer a unique and innovative product that bridges a gap in the market aimed at drivers and passengers who are unable to work following a motor accident.

Motor personal accident policies typically include standard personal accident benefits (accidental death, loss of sight and permanent total disability) with relatively low limits that respond to catastrophic injuries only. However, motor accidents can also cause a variety of serious personal injuries which do not result in permanent disability or death. These can include injuries to the head and back, neck and chest as well as the limbs.

It is these “non-covered” GAPS in cover that Injury Protect is uniquely positioned to fill with its proprietary benefit schedule which pays cash benefits according to normal recovery times.

Benefits are based on the normal recovery time of an operation so that the longer the normal recovery time, the greater the benefit will be that a person or an employer will receive.  Injury Protect also provides reimbursement for emergency dental procedures following motor accident.

MediCheque Managing Director Dominic Higham commented: “We are delighted to have partnered with Sparta to launch this innovative version of our MyRecoveryCheque medical recovery insurance plans. As a specialist wholesale provider, Sparta are gaining significant reach in the UK retail market and we look forward to the partnership growing as we move forward”.

Sparta CEO Steve Bennett commented “Injury Protect is a great example of the innovative type of product that we are seeking to add to our new platform which is rapidly gaining adoption by UK retail brokers. The policy could be very valuable to a person involved in a motor accident following which they were unable to work but did not qualify for traditional personal accident coverage. In particular, our research indicates the policy will add value to commercial, fleet  and trades peoples motor policies offered by brokers.”
